Course Description

This course will introduce the learner to whistleblowing and the laws, policies and procedures that relate to whistleblowing and retaliation. The course will define terms associated with whistleblowing and will explain how whistleblowers are protected from retaliation. After completing this course, the learner will understand:
- The various whistleblower protection laws that have been passed by the government and implemented by the financial institution.
- How to file a claim under the False Claims Act.
- How the Dodd-Frank act affects filing whistleblower claims.
Course Topics
T1. Whistleblowing and Retaliation: This topic will familiarize the learner with the relationship between whistleblowing and retaliation by defining retaliation and providing advice for the proper way to respond to retaliation
T2. Whistleblowing Protection Laws: This topic will familiarize the learner with various whistleblower protection laws and provisions, in addition to describing types of fraud of which the learner should be aware.
T3. Filing a Claim Under the False Claims Act: This topic will explain to the learner the process of filing a claim under the False Claims Act and how the subsequent investigation will be undertaken.
T4. Filing Under the Dodd-Frank Acts SEC Program: This topic will provide details regarding the whistleblower program and eligible whistleblowers under the Dodd-Frank Act's SEC Program
